The hot climate in Thailand has made most of the local food here fairly light. There's lots of salads, seafood dishes, and thin soups. Sometimes though, for a foreigner anyways, that isn't quite what we're looking for. If you're looking for the opposite of light food, then you'll want to stop by Fatty's.
Fatty's has a great selection of authentic German food including: spätzle, wieners of all kinds, bratwurst, and schnitzel, and, as the name would suggest, all of them come in huge portions.
I've always been partial to the spätzle dishes here. There's one dish that comes with spätzle, Italian herbs, egg, and ham, which is great. Their meatballs with potato salad is also very good. All of this goes very well with either a weiß or schwarz bier (white or dark beer). To wrap things up, if you have any room left at all, I suggest the cheesecake.
I guarantee you won't leave the place hungry, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. You can tell you're getting a deal because it's always stuffed full of locals, who are, if anything, mindful of expenses.
