Krua Thai - Thai Restaurant

 

It's often pretty hard to find a middle-of-the-road Thai food place. Either you're sitting around on a street corner dining on plastic chairs or you've been suckered into an overly decorated place with twenty different utensils that have never been used with Thai food and paying about ten times the going rate because your pad thai that looks exactly the same as it ever has is now somehow royal pad thai.

 

Well, Krua Thai, or Thai Kitchen, is one of those nice middle-of-the-road places that you can eat at every day and enjoy great Thai food at reasonable prices. It came highly recommended to me from a Thai friend, so I went down and had an early dinner there: lemon chicken, coconut curry chicken soup, and a milk tea. It was all very enjoyable, clean, and just a good place to have dinner or lunch when you're not looking for anything flash.

 

You may think that this is faint praise, but I'm just saying that you'll thank me as you drive around Phuket Town with plastic stools all around you and the only place that you actually know the name of is across town and serves the dreaded Royal Thai Cuisine!

 

บางครั้งร้านอาหารที่รสชาติชนะเลิศ อาจซ่อนตัวอยู่ในซอยใดซอยหนึ่ง ที่เราไม่เคยสนใจเลยก็ได้... ครัวไทยเป็นร้านที่ให้ความรู้สึกเป็นกันเองสบาย ๆ เจ้าของร้านอัธยาศัยดี อาหารทำเสร็จอย่างรวดเร็ว และราคาย่อมเยาว์ อย่ามัวแต่มอง ต้องลองมาชิม เปิดมา 20 ปีแล้วจ้า
